Hello, I’m Bhavyatta. Call me Bea!
I have always been the person who sees what’s not working before anyone else names it. That’s not always comfortable, for me or for the room. Now I’m making a career out of it.
Being ahead of time has helped me identify risks and preemptive strategies to prevent and, adapt to technological dangers that don’t get advertised until they happen–extremely useful in security operations and risk management. And I’m grateful for the privilege to work alongside some wonderful people and leaders, being invited to the rooms with a seat at the table that had my name on. But when it’s not enough to foster your curiosity, you build one of your own, right?
Well, I hope so, because I started Danuma™ to create conditions where I investigate systemic vulnerabilities from a practitioner’s perspective. Essentially, in order to improve ethical standards, I ask life sustaining questions through: how can we support structures that prevent the erasure of what matters–people, their lineages, their dignity, their capacity for hope. I ask, what do we owe to the people who come after us, and what are we destroying that they will never recover?
I use my expertise and an intersectional approach to identify these blind-spots because after some point, watching the wrong problem getting solved with great efficiency takes time away from what really matters: people and planet. Through Danuma™, I’ve created
- Lovelace Threshold: Security-centred AI governance for organisations that can’t simply assume trust but intend to engineer through systemic accountability.
- Vulnerability Management for Policy Design: A policy translation instrument to identify where downstream AI governance fails because it categorises capability-based risks without governing upstream conditions.
- Equitable AI for Nonprofits: Practical toolkit for nonprofits to assess and mitigate AI-related equity risks, centring marginalised communities across every operational touchpoint.
What I’m currently building:
- Compute-to-Climate Deterrence
- Regulation S.T.R.A.P.S.
- Systemic Vulnerability Map
Did I mention I created all of these through poetry and flowcharts? I read obsessively, write to think, love music and art, and I think about intergenerational consequences more than is probably reasonable. I believe that the most important things are usually the tiniest moments that we miss out on if we’re not paying attention.
